Who Should Attend

Professionals interested to build a career in Analytics. The programme would demand adequate familiarity with high-school level mathematics.

Eligibility

  • Applicants should be working professionals/self-employed.
  • Engineers, Post Graduates & Graduates with minimum 2 years of work experience (full-time paid employment) post completion of graduation as on Application Closure Date.
  • Full Time Degree Graduates (10+2+3) in any discipline with min. 50% marks [aggregate - considering results of all years (e.g. 3 or 4 together)] recognized by UGC/AICTE. Deviation – only AICTE/State Tech Board approved full-time Diploma (10+2+3) will be considered.

Desired Proficiencies in the Candidate (in addition to the Eligibility Criteria) –

  • Proficiency in English since it would be the medium of instruction.

Outline of Courses:Business Analytics for Competitive Advantage

This course will cover how to strategically use analytics across business functions of an organization to drive effective decision making. The coverage plan of this course is as follows:

Mathematics for Business Analytics

This course will cover mathematical techniques that would be necessary to effectively participate in different classes on business analytics. The coverage plan of this course is as follows:

  • Induction principles, Sets.
  • Matrix and determinant, Permutation and Combination .
  • Differential Calculus – function, limit, continuity, derivative, maxima, minima.

Time Series Models in Business

This course introduces fundamental concepts of time series analysis. No prior knowledge of time series analysis is necessary. However, a basic understanding of probability and statistical inference is assumed. This course is a blend of basic theory of times series models and its applications. Although the proceedings will primarily consider applications in the areas of economics and finance, the modelling approach is quite general, and can be easily extended to applications in other areas. When I enrolled myself for the "Executive Programme of Business Analytics" at IIM, Calcutta I was a little skeptical about how would the course go. Though I have been through e-learning and Webinars, I had never attended a yearlong course online. But to my surprise the very first session I had was very impressive. Program Directors

IIM Calcutta will carry out the examination and evaluation required for certification. Successful completion of the programme will require a participant to
(a) attend at least 66.67% in each of the classes and

(b) obtain no more than two "Poor" grades in the whole programme.

 

IIM Calcutta will award a certificate of successful completion to participants who complete the programme successfully. Participants with requisite attendance but with more than two "Poor" grades will receive a certificate of participation. Failure to take an examination will result in the participant getting an "incomplete" status and no certificate will be awarded to the participant. Also, a participant without requisite attendance (of at least 66.67%) in every course will not be awarded any certificate.
